We have been manufacturing barbecues for over twenty years. During this time we have sold them to councils, schools, hotels, universities and so on all over Australia and New Zealand. All Melbourne Barbecue Centre barbecues are made from heavy duty, fully galvanised steel and come with a stainless steel hotplate that will never rust. Our barbecues are Australian made, and therefore designed to withstand harsh temperatures - whether it is freezing cold or extremely hot.

Our barbecues are available with an optional six-second time delay mechanism that acts as a safeguard against accidental lighting. This means the ignition button must be pushed for six seconds before it lights, and is especially important when children are around. Standard safety features include:

• A green warning light that lets you know when the barbecue is operating.
• Only 24volts of power – not 240v - are connected to the door, which greatly minimises public risk
• Electric models have a thermostatic control mechanism
• All electronic components are enclosed in a tamper-proof box
• All hotplates are now constructed from stainless steel, the most hygienic public cooking surface.

We rarely have problems with our barbecues because they are designed with reliability in mind. They are constructed from heavy-duty materials, and the electronics – including the ignition system - have a proven track record of safe, reliable service. Furthermore, all barbecues undergo rigorous testing before they leave the factory. We are so confident with our product that all of our barbecues come with a full two-year warranty.

We have a great variety of barbecues to choose from, with our models available in gas or electric, with push button or coin operation, in cabinets or by themselves. If you decide to go for a cabinet, then you can choose almost any colour you want to match in with existing colour schemes. And because we manufacture our own product, we can custom make things like lids and extended benchtops. Just tell us what you have in mind and we will do our best to make it for you.

All of our barbecues come with a copper base plate for even heat distribution across the stainless steel hotplate. This eliminates the ‘cold spot', thus ensuring a more hygienic and efficient cooking surface.

Our barbecues are extremely efficient, designed to generate maximum heat output using minimum energy resources. The hotplate temperature is adjustable, ranging from 50*C to 350*c and is factory set at 220*c.
